What's Happening in the Anglican Communion

The Anglican Communion is in a state of crisis. Many individual provinces (regional churches) have departed from biblically based, Anglican Communion teaching in a variety of areas. These departures from orthodox teaching have caused a great split or "schism" within the communion. The following resources are designed to inform people about how the Anglican Communion reached this point and what is currently happening in the communion.

  • The AAC releases an email every Friday containing updates on the latest news from around the Anglican Communion. Each update also has a message from the President and CEO of the American Anglican Council, The Rt. Rev. David Anderson. If you would like to receive the AAC's Weekly Update please click here.

  • This 42 page, detailed account of The Episcopal Church's actions to "tear the fabric" of the Anglican Communion was originally presented to the Primates (provincial leaders) of the Anglican Communion at their February 2009 meeting in Alexandria, Egypt.

  • A free, four-part course in a compelling format, designed to educate the faithful about current events within the Episcopal Church and their impact on parishes today. This four-session class features a non-threatening, fact-based approach that helps to open minds and hearts to our obligations as brothers and sisters in Christ within the worldwide Anglican Communion.
