VANCOUVER, CANADA - The Anglican Communion in New Westminster stands in unity with our Episcopal friends in the American Anglican Council and with the vast majority of faithful Anglicans throughout the global Communion, who are protesting the departure from Mainstream Anglican teaching by the General Convention of the Episcopal Church of the United States of America, in their affirmation of an active homosexual as Bishop of New Hampshire.
It is unfortunate that those hoping for unity amidst such decisions, did not look to the Diocese of New Westminster as a cautionary example of how a similar unilateral decision has led to deep division and disunity that is far from resolution.
We continue to pray for the strength and support of our fellow Conservative Anglicans, and for Godly intervention from the Archbishop of Canterbury to protect all those faithful Anglicans who have been disaffected by this and other similar unilateral actions.
