Dear readers,

I hope this edition of Encompass is informative and helpful as you "fight the good fight of the faith" (1 Tim. 6:12) as an Anglican witness of Christ. You may not know this, but the American Anglican Council has published Encompass for nearly 15 years, and with each edition we've informed and equipped our readers as best we can through a free, print publication. In an effort to save printing costs and realizing that many subscribers now prefer electronic communications, last year we started an online version of Encompass. Nevertheless, the vast majority of our Encompass readers, individuals and parishes still receive the print publication.

The economic downturn has hit the AAC just as it has affected everyone else, and we've been forced to consider the costs of printing and mailing Encompass to over 8,000 subscribers. Knowing that there is a demand for our printed newsletter makes me want to continue publishing this 15-year periodical. With these factors in mind, we are asking our readers to make a small donation of $10 for a year's subscription. Please know that we would like to provide all of our resources free but that the economic times we live in demand we defray costs when possible.

Be sure to designate your donation for Encompass. You can also donate via mail by tearing off this article and using the enclosed envelope or by calling us. Only those who donate will receive the printed editions of Encompass next year.
